Training of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Jawans

The Central Industrial Security Force, an autonomous body under the Home Ministry, approached the National Council for Hotel Management to train their Jawans at the level of Mess Cook III so that they improve their skills. It was also felt that through certification after end of the eight week course they would be able to find employment in the industry after their release form active service.

With a batch size of 25 Jawans each, the NCHM organized six training programs at our institutes at Chandigarh (AIHM and CIHM), Hyderabad, Kolkata, Dehradun, and Bhatinda

Revised classification guidelines for hotels under HSR

The Ministry of Tourism has revised classification guidelines for hotel, with specific reference to training of unemployed youth under Hunar Se Rozgar Tak scheme by hotels. The National Council for Hotel Management conducted workshops for the benefit of local hospitality industry elucidating the Ministry of Tourism’s targets and requirements. The workshops were conducted by expert trainers at IHM, Pusa-Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram

Hunar Se Rozgar Tak with Delhi Hotels

Following success of the Hunar Se Rozgar program launched through Institutes of Hotel Management, under the Capacity Building for Service Provider – CBSP scheme, the Ministry of Tourism, in a first of its kind initiative to build capacity, decided to expand the HSR scheme in partnership with HAI approved hotels in New Delhi. The program under PPP mode was launched on 21st December 2009 with leading hotels of Delhi under their Corporate Social Responsibility – CSR at a ceremony held at Hotel Ashok attended by Hon’ble Minister for Tourism and industry leaders. So far, NCHMCT alongwith HAI approved Hotels of Delhi, has trained the following no. of candidates in the two trades:

Safe and Honourable Tourism workshops for train the trainer

The National Code of Conduct on Safe and Honorable Tourism was adopted on 1st July 2010.  The mechanism provides for prevention of exploitation of women and children under the Code Guidelines.  The Hospitality Industry has been sensitized to this effect and there was need to inculcate the same ethics amongst educational institutes under the Ministry of Tourism i.e. the IHMs, FCIs and IITTM.   Train the Trainer’s programs on Safe and Honorable Tourism were organized at IHMs Bengaluru, Mumbai and Pusa-Delhi during November 2011 through an NGO ‘Save the Children India’.
